Description
Ceramic modeling course in Santiago
If you are looking for a form of free and artistic expression, participating in our ceramic modeling course in Santiago is the definitive experience to connect with your creativity. At the Beatriz Seijo Artist Studio, we move away from the rush to teach you how to build unique objects using only your hands and simple tools. Here, every pinch and every texture tells a story: yours.
Under the guidance of Carme Ayala and Mario López, you will learn the ancient construction techniques that allow you to give life to any shape you imagine, from organic tableware to decorative sculptures.
🏺 Techniques of this ceramic modeling course in Santiago
In our manual pottery workshop, we will explore the three main ways to master clay without rushing, integrating each step so that you achieve pieces with professional finishes:
-
Pinching and coiling technique: The basis for creating pieces with character and resistance.
-
Slab construction: Ideal for geometric shapes, trays or contemporary vases.
-
Texturing and finishing: You will learn to use stamps and fabrics to give personality to your creations.
🌿 Why learn at the Beatriz Seijo Art Studio?
Unlike the lathe, manual modeling allows a different pause and infinite freedom of shapes. In our studio, we take care of every detail so that your learning is unforgettable:
-
Direct attention: The teaching staff will accompany you every step of the way, helping you to technically resolve your ideas.
-
No shape limits: Here we do not depend on the symmetry of the lathe; If you can imagine it, you can model it.
-
High quality materials: We work with stoneware and selected bodies for a long-lasting result.

Registration in our monthly disciplines ( Ceramics, Painting and Kids’ Creativity ) implies acceptance of these conditions, designed to guarantee the pedagogical quality and sustainability of our groups.
1. Enrolment and seat reservation
-
Registration and erolment: To guarantee your seat, it is required to pay the registration fee (a one-off payment of €50.00) and the first monthly instalment for the chosen course in advance.
-
Continuity: You will not be required to pay the enrolment fee again as long as you retain your place without interruption. In the event of voluntary withdrawal, any future re-enrolment will be subject to payment of the current enrolment fee.
-
Flexible Enrollment: If you join a group after the course has already started, you will be charged the registration fee and a pro-rata share of the remaining monthly fee, or the full monthly fee if you join at the start of the monthly period.
-
Cycle Renewal: Students who complete the school year and wish to continue in the next cycle will be exempt from paying enrolment fees.
-
Mobility: You can request a change of group or discipline during the year at no additional cost, as long as there are vacancies.
-
Priority Enrollment: At the end of the school year, we open a priority booking period for the following academic year. To confirm your seat, you will be required to pay the first monthly fee for the new course in advance.
2. Monthly Payments and Commitment to Attendance
-
Guaranteed Place: Monthly payments must be paid in full within the first 5 days of each month. As your place is reserved exclusively for you, the fee must be paid regardless of any occasional absences.
-
Management of Non-Payments: Failure to pay the monthly fee by the specified deadline will result in the automatic loss of your place and your removal from the workshop.
3. Cancellation and Unsubscription Policy
-
Early Cancellation: If you decide not to start the course after booking, you may request a Workshop Voucher for the amount of the monthly fee paid, provided you give at least 7 calendar days’ notice. The registration fee is non-refundable.
-
Voluntary Cancellation: To formalise a permanent cancellation, you must notify us before the 20th of the current month. Cancellations notified on or after the 21st will take effect the following month, meaning the full monthly fee for that month must be paid.
4. Organizational and Coexistence Commitments
-
Group Viability: The running of workshops is subject to a minimum number of participants. If this minimum is not reached, the school will refund 100% of the fees paid (enrolment fee and course fee).
-
Relocation due to Cancellation: If an existing group falls below the minimum number of students required for it to continue, students will be offered a seat on alternative timetables. If this is not possible or the student is not interested, a technical cancellation will be made without penalty and all charges will be stopped.
-
Right of Admission: To maintain a creative, safe and respectful working environment, the management reserves the right of admission. Any behaviour that seriously disrupts the harmony of the group will result in immediate expulsion without entitlement to a refund.
1. Who are the workshops aimed at?
Our workshops are open to all audiences. It doesn’t matter your age or your profile; If you are curious about ceramics and want to develop your creativity in a relaxed atmosphere, this is your place.
2. I have no prior knowledge, can I start from scratch?
Of course! The Workshop has a program designed specifically for beginners. Learning from the basics will allow you to progress safely and advance much faster. The only thing you need to bring is a desire to learn; The technique will allow you to obtain surprising results almost from the first day.
Remember: The only way to fail at ceramics is to not decide to “get to work.”
3. Can I join at any time of the year?
Yes. The work system in the studio is completely personalized. This allows us to welcome you at any time during the course, since you set your own starting and learning pace.
4. How long does it take to cook the pieces?
The baking process itself usually takes between 8 and 10 hours. It is a fundamental step for your creations to go from being decorative objects to resistant and functional pieces. But cooling the oven is so important, it usually takes about 24 hours.
5. What exactly is “baking” the pieces?
The clay pieces, before going through the kiln, are fragile and purely decorative. By baking them at high temperatures (up to 1300 ºC) for several hours, the material transforms and becomes utilitarian. It is the magical process that allows us, for example, to drink from our own modeled and enameled cups.
6. Can classes be made up if I miss a day?
Yes, as long as the class is cancelled in advance. We have a system for managing absences and make-ups so you don’t lose your learning rythm due to unforeseen circumstances. Any class cancelled on time will be saved so you can make it up another day within the available schedule for each activity.
7. What is the work system in the workshop?
We work with a custom method. Each student develops their project at their own pace. The teachers constantly reinforce and correct you, ensuring that you correctly apply the technical procedures according to your level.
